Health Equity

The Challenge
Marginalized Somali women and girls experience deep inequities in access to quality healthcare. Poverty limits their ability to pay for services, and many communities lack health facilities entirely. Most women give birth at home without skilled attendants, increasing preventable maternal and infant deaths. Discrimination, language barriers, and lack of training opportunities further exclude Somali Bantu women from both receiving care and being employed as health professionals.
Our Approach
We work to improve access to equitable, culturally responsive health services while building community-based health capacity.
